Mexico, Mezcal, and Ahi Tuna
Arrived in Mexico just under a week ago, still settling into the pace of life here. It’s new, somewhat chaotic, authentically real, yet peaceful, it’s a wild scene and I am adapting. The beaches are amazing, the women beautiful, the people are friendly, the ocean is magic, the food and drink are out of this world, and I am on my way to eating my weights worth of fresh Ahi Tuna. Damn straight that is good shit! Struck a vein on some real nice local Mezcal yesterday too, legit stuff. They even shuck fresh oysters on the beach, it’s my kind of place.
My transportation is an electric motorbike, it’s rad, perfect for getting around this little seaside village. I just need to do my thing in this place, not sure exactly what that “thing'“ is yet, but it will come to me soon, I am sure of it, another week and I move to new living arrangements over looking the ocean for the last month of my stay, it is going to be magical, the Pacific Ocean will be my backyard. So grateful for this entire experience!
Did I happen to mention that Mezcal and Ahi, oh those Ahi tostados and tartare! Makes my mouth water just writing about it… Anyway, the weather has been mostly sunny and 80, some clouds, but not too shabby. While it may seem as though I am on vacation, I am indeed working, in fact business is a big part of my life on a trip like this, learning how to weave it all together, live in a new place for maximum health, happiness, healing, and productivity, one which takes some time to settle into. It has been a busy week in that regard, the mental equivalent of being drawn and quartered, but it will work itself out, always does.
The photography opportunities have been fantastic, other than the moment I deleted 300+ photos from a great afternoon surf session and the first 30 minutes of this sunset shoot. All these came after I knew I had lost so much great work, I think my frustrations came through in these shots, my energy is part of them. Another time in my life I would let that own me, yeah man, put me in a bad energy place, no more though, it’s just as the universe intended, I just needed too get on board with it. Lost some but gained a lot more!
I suppose that’s about it for now, the photography muse is hitting me hard with all the new visual stimulation here, will likely account for less writing than usual, but more to come as I get further settled into life in this place.
I completely forgot about the Pozole, but we will get to that later. I promise…
