That’s All I Need

This Villa, This Beach, This Laptop, & This 8wt, That’s All I Need

If you have never seen The Jerk, I am sorry for you… Lucked into finding this beach villa, it is way more place than I really needed, oh well.  The decision took seconds, arguably the best beach on the island out my back door.  Was not looking to check anything off my bucket list, but certainty checked off a couple items.  This is my piece of paradise for the next month.

These days it is possible for work to be wherever you open your laptop.  We are living in an extraordinary time and place for human beings.   Working on the beach before going for a swim as I did just today.    Before or after work chasing Bonefish on beautiful white sand flats adjacent to deep channels of turquoise water so rich in blue that it appears it would coat your fingers like paint if you touched it.    It is fantasy land…

Bonefish, the grey ghost of the flats, imagine flat out speed with stealth technology.  Color shifting to match the bottom they are feeding on, translucent grey for sand to a rich translucent green for the turtle grass. 

Doing the best work of my life and making a positive contribution to this grand experiment that is remote working in the post Covid era.  

Human civilization changed forever and for the better in 2020.   There has never been a better time to be alive on this Earth.   Wonder where can I find a willing Permit or Tarpon?

All I need is this villa, this beach, this laptop, this 8wt, and this 10wt rod, that’s all I need.
